	<title>URBAN FORESTER</title>

	<description>The Urban Forester is a shared position between the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith and the City of Fort Smith.  UA Fort Smith responsibilities will include managing all facets of the campus urban forest on 168± acres including the tree inventory, planting, pruning, and general care; the tree donor program; and the arboretum website.  Duties for the City of Fort Smith will include managing the urban forests in city parks including tree inventory, planting, pruning and general care; developing and maintaining a city tree ordinance; coordinating and teaching residential tree care public education programs; and overseeing the Tree City USA program.  Additional duties will include maintaining supply orders; identifying additional grant dollar sources; managing the arboretum budget; making presentations to various organizations; scheduling and training staff concerning urban tree care; and performing other related duties as required or assigned.  Routine work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Occasional overtime required, including evening and weekend assignments.</description>

Duties include: provide consulting to entrepreneurs and business owners/managers; develop and deliver training programs; develop specific area(s) of expertise within the arena of business development; serve as an advocate of business development, expansion, and retention in the area; engage in public relations activities; assure the accomplishment of the goals and milestones as set forth in the ASBDC contract; assist in the continued development, implementation, and updating of an ongoing strategic plan; seek and apply for grants; support UA Fort Smith improvement efforts through active involvement on internal committees or special projects; prepare appropriate university, state, and federal documents; and secure qualified faculty and support staff to implement programs.  Other duties include maintain efficient and effective operation, including management of personnel, budget, and other resources and perform other duties as assigned.  The Director is also expected to participate in local activities within UA Fort Smith and the business community in a manner that enhances the visibility and perceived value of the regional office to the university and other stakeholders.</description>
